SYNOPSIS:
With wit and charm, the Donald Strachey mystery series picks up again in this wonderful third episode about
vandalism to a home lived by a pair of older lesbians.
REVIEW:
Here is the latest chapter in the Donald Strachey series, adapted from Richard Stevenson’s classic gay
private eye novels. Chad Allen is back as the wry Donald Strachey, and Sebastian Spence returns as his
adorable lover, Timothy. Margot Kidder (Superman) is dead-on perfect as a feisty older lesbian in this
installment.
When the residents of a neighborhood are offered huge sums of money to sell their homes to a developer,
the only ones to refuse are an elderly lesbian couple. Soon after, the couple’s home is hit with anti-gay
graffiti and bricks through the windows, and the women call in local gay private detective Donald Strachey.
Contrary to what everyone believes, Don suspects that the attack is motivated by big-business rather than
homophobia. And as usual Don is right with his hunches; if he wasn't this wouldn't be a successful mystery
series, would it?
Timothy’s first boyfriend shows up to help, and jealousy flares between the couple. As the investigation
progresses, Tim and Don fall in love all over again, their bond strengthened by their admiration for the
elderly lesbian couple. Come raise your glass to this dapper investigative couple that we love.
